This is Canadian singer Tamia’s third single from the album Between Friends (Image/Gallo). I love the song, Tamia, flawless as usual. The video fits the concept to a damn Tee, I would like to know who directed this? I watch Tamia and NBA player/husband Grant Hill on Oprah a couple of weeks ago, and they were discussing how they manage to remain happily married through their ups and downs, both personally and professionally. He was a promised NBA star, but dealt with several injuries during the most critical time of his career. He is now healthy and looking forward to a successful injury-free season. She is extremely talented and has been in the business for years (Quincy Jones introduced her to the industry by producing her 1st hit "You put a move on my heart") but has yet to see a successful selling album in the United States. Sadly, Tamia was recently diagnosed with M.S. (the same disease Richard Pryor suffered from)
You can catch her beautiful videos on BET'S Midnight Love (which is only a 30 minute long program...and it doesn't come on every night) but for some reason she doesn't get the love and the support that Beyonce, or Rihanna gets. She is set on making grown people music, with real instruments, and she actually takes the time to put an album together. She isn't on tour in the bus writing an album in 2 weeks,. This year's host will be funny man DL Hugley. In years past the BET awards' audience have been a younger crowd. Let's hope DL's jokes hit home. I'm sure they will. It can't be as bad as Damon Wayans a couple years back. His jokes were made for an older crowd.
75 Year old music legend Quincy Jones has been selected as the 2008 recipient of BET's Humanitarian Award and will receive the honor at the “BET Awards” on June 24. Past winners of the award include Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Denzel & Pauletta Washington, and Don Cheadle, who were bestowed the award in 2007.
