Some of hip hop's current heavy hitters are looking to release albums later this year and on into 2008.
These guys are Gettin' it In!
Chamillionaire is slated to drop the
Ultimate Victory on September 14th, that is locked and loaded so don't expect any delays.
David Banner is penciled in for October as is
Ashanti.
A couple superstars from the early 90's are making their comebacks this fall,
Nelly is expected to return in October and
Ja Rule should release his album in November. Speaking of returns,
Asylum is hoping to have a new
Scarface album to release before 2008 along with a new
Bun B solo album.
Wyclef, who has got a new single with
Weezy and
Akon, is slated for
November 6th on Sony, to be followed by Three 6 Mafia on December 4th. The long rumored
Bow Wow
and Omarion collabo is also expected from Sony in November.
Keep your fingers crossed, we may see
Saigon's long awaited The Greatest Story Never Told should see the light of day late this year. Also expected

(from Asylum!) is
9th Wonder's solo album this year.
On the Dipset front expect a
Max B LP along with
Jim Jones' Byrd Gang via Asylum. Jim Jones will also be releasing a deluxe edition of Hustler's P.O.M.E. with a handful of new songs. The people at Asylum are also pushing for a new
Cam'ron album before 2008, but that is up in the air.
The one everyone is waiting for,
Tha Carter 3, isn't expected until early in 2008. But Wayne's daddy
Birdman may be out before then in late 2007.
Last, but certainly not least, don't hold your breath for 8 Diagrams from
The Wu this year. Reps at Universal are anticipating an early 2008 release.
