Timbaland's "The Way I Are" (Interscope) featuring Keri Hilson ended Rihanna's epic run at the top of the U.K. singles chart yesterday (July 29).
The Timbaland track climbed 3-1 to finish the 10-week run of "Umbrella" (Def Jam), featuring Jay-Z, which fell to No. 3. But weekly sales of 33,578 for "The Way" were just 16 more than those for Nash's track, which spent a second consecutive week at No. 2, and fourth in total, and may go down as one of the most unlucky tracks to miss out on No. 1 in chart history.
Rihanna had the consolation of seeing "Shut Up and Drive," also from her "Good Girl Gone Bad" album, race 65-18, while the album itself climbed 11-10.
In other Timbaland news, it appears the super producer may be looking at the Pop world yet again for his up-coming projects. M.I.A. told the Village Voice that Timbaland confided in her that he was "... done being cool; I want to work with Celine Dion."
