KANYE STANDS UP FOR SOULJA BOY

Soulja boy is fresh ass hell and is actually the true meaning of what hip hop is sposed to be. He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain’t Hip Hop then what is? A bunch of wannabe keep it real rappers that ain’t even relevant, recycling samples trying to act like it’s 96 again and all they do is hate on new shit? Niggas always talk about the golden age but for a 13 year old kid, this is the golden age!!! That song was so dope cause everything he said had a hidden meaning… that’s Nas level shit… he just put it over some steel drums which is also some Nas shit if you had the 2nd album cassette with the bonus track “Silent Murder” on it… Ain’t no fuckin’ rules to this shit and that’s what real hip hop is to me.” –Kanye West, IF YOU'RE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE WHOLE ICE-T vs. SOULJA BOY TELL 'EM BEEF, THEN READ ON...AFTER THE JUMP!

Ever since Soulja Boy Tell’em entered the hip-hop realm, his place there has been questioned and his creativity scrutinized. But it looks like he’s finally had enough. Soulja Boy is hitting back, in a vlog battle with Ice-T.

It all started last week, when DJ Cisco’s Urban Legend mixtape was released and contained some pretty harsh words from Ice-T directed toward Soulja Boy, at one point telling him to “eat a di–” and blaming him for “singlehandedly killing hip-hop.” Ouch.

Two days later, the gloves were officially off when Soulja Boy posted his own response video, in which he laughs throughout and constantly refers to Ice-T’s age, repeatedly calling him an “old-ass n—a” (six times, we counted). Although he seems to be joking for most of the video’s seven-and-a-half minutes, Soulja Boy does have some serious moments in which he acknowledges Ice-T’s influence on hip-hop (calling him a legend), but also says that times have changed, and he’s doing what he has to in order to support his family. Soulja Boy, tell him!

Another two days went by, and another response video surfaced. On June 22, Ice-T posted a video apologizing to Soulja Boy for telling him to “eat a di–,” but still making it a point to say that his music is “garbage.” Ice-T says this isn’t an old-school vs. new-school or East Coast vs. West Coast war, though he warns that there will be ramifications for Soulja Boy from the West. Check out the debate at the Roundtable when MTV labeled the hottest mc's in the game.

Whose side are you on? Should Ice-T retire and quit whining like a cranky old man? Or are Soulja Boy and his fellow ringtone rappers the death of hip-hop?

NEW VIDEO: SOULJA BOY'S RESPONSE TO ICE-T COMMENT

Ice-T recently said that Soulja Boy is the single handed reason that Hip Hop is Dead! Well, Soulja Boy decided to post his response via: YouTube. Some folks would argue that Hip Hop evolves and if it didn't then it would die. Others would say that it is in a state of depression or is dying. What do you think?

DID Y'ALL HEAR ABOUT SOULJA BOY GOING OFF ON HIS MYSPACE PAGE?

Seventeen-year-old “Crank That” rapper Soulja Boy recently had a venting session via his “claim to fame,” MySpace page. Where he denies any rumors of him impregnating a nineteen-year-old Atlanta woman. His rant then goes on to include a couple of celebrities such as Steve Harvey.

Here's what he posted:

Wuz hannan dis ya folk Soulja Boy I just wanna let all my fans know that rumor about me having a baby on the way is not true.. So FUCK that site Mediatakeout And FUCK Bet Black carpet for lying on me! lol

And Oh yeah this is my only Myspace page all the others is fake. And FUCK D.O.B. for lying and saying im joccin them I never heard of them in my life if I leave a comment on ya page and say yo music tight u should take that shit as i compliment DUMBASS! And when I come to Ohio I wish yall niggaz would try some shit I will beat the shit out of yall niggaz myself

I look around and see alot of haters.. Even famous people who don’t know me. Steve Harvey hating? I mean Damn.. STEVE HARVEY? wtf I grew up watchin this nigga on TV and he wanna get on radio saying my songs are vulgar and trying to stop me from gettin my paper. I mean damn dude if yo son was out here trying to provide from his family you wouldn’t wont someone trying to stop his success and making up shit.

How you gone say some shit on Radio where ALOT of people will believe just because of who you are leave your mouth if you didnt make sure it was true? I got old ass niggaz from Wu-Tang dissin me. Some dude named GZA from Wu-Tang Clan dat was born in 66′ lol, who I never met in my life.. I’m like wow..

Don’t hate. INHALE IT IN NIGGA BREATHE IT IN! BASK IN IT!

I’m definitely not mad at him though. He writes, produces, and markets his own music which means he ain’t got to listen NOBODY ($$$). But, I'm like 100 years old, I hate his songs. He brought the talent down a lot. And, he is a lil boy talking about squirting semen on them hoes. That's a lil' much! But, he definitely has the right to defend himself if he believes in what he does.

SUGE KNIGHT TOPS THE "10 MOST HATED IN HIP HOP" LIST

DOES THIS SURPRISE ANYBODY???

264375marion-suge-knight-posters.jpg

Is that a picture of Suge Knight or Rick Ross? I kid, I kid! Lol.

In an article published today in the Broward-Palm Beach New Times titled “The Ten Most Hated Figures in Hip-Hop,” writer Jonathan Cunningham makes a hilarious but well thought-out mock-up list of what he considers to be the ten most hated people in hip-hop. Now these aren’t all rappers, as evidenced by the fact that Suge Knight made the list. I mean, clearly Suge doesn’t rap. Karrine “Superhead” Steffans is listed at #2 and Diddy is at #3. DJ Khaled, who I personally dig, but can understand why people hate, is listed at #5. Somehow Fergie is #6, still being blamed for Black Eyed Peas becoming a pop rap band. Whatever.

I happen to agree with a lot of this list, but I don’t think the order is right. I also question the relevance of some of these people. I mean Suge is hated and all, but how many people are really thinking about this guy right now? Not many. And even though I dig the reasoning behind Soulja Boy being listed at #10 for basically being a one hit wonder, I don’t think many would agree with that. The only people who seem to hate him are old bitter rappers who despise the internet and can’t stand Southern kid hop.

Here’s the list, in order. You be the judge. Is the writer on to something or is he just plain on something?

10- Soulja Boy 9- Paul Wall 8- Cam’ron 7- Nelly 6- Fergie 5- DJ Khaled 4- 50 Cent 3- Diddy 2- Karrine “Superhead” Steffans 1- Suge Knight

ALICIA KEYS KEEPING THE PACE ON THE CHARTS; GHOSTFACE...NOT SO MUCH

On the chart's this week Alicia Keys stayed strong while the critically acclaimed new album "Big Doe Rehab" from Ghostface Killah debuted low. Alicia Keys holds on to the #2 (234,000 sold) position on this week's Billboard chart as her sales continue to climb. She is joined in the top 10 by American Idol runner-up Blake Lewis whose debut album landed at #10 (98,000 sold). But the real story on this week’s chart is the debuts of some big Hip-Hop releases. Scarface leads the pack with his new album "Made" coming in at #17 (63,084 sold) while DJ Drama's first retail mixtape "Gangsta Grillz: The Album" landed at #26 (48,848 sold). New albums from Wyclef Jean and Ghostface Killah, while critically acclaimed, disappointed sales wise on the charts with their albums coming in at #28 (46,519 sold) and #41(35,671 sold) respectively. Styles P.'s new KOCH distributed album "Super Gangster, Extraordinary Gentleman" landed at #52 (29,047 sold). It was also clear this week that while fans may still love 2Pac, they aren't too interested in purchasing another hits album from the legendary artist. Two new 2Pac hits releases, "Thug" and "Life" hit the charts this week and sold 22,539 and 18,943 copies respectively. One of the week's biggest Hip-Hop gainers was Soulja Boy whose album "Souljaboytellem.com" was up 29% in sales and came in at #32. The week's #1 album was once again Josh Groban's "Noel" selling another 568,000 copies.
