If you're not first...You're last.
R&B superstar Chris Brown was thrown a surprise 19th birthday party by Carol’s Daughter.
The party was held at Rebel NYC in New York on May 13th, 2008.
Rihanna was spotted looking like a million bucks at InStyle Magazine’s Salute to Fashion event in Hollywood, California.
The “Umbrella” hitmaker is definitely on top of her game in all respects: Her career is soaring, she’s dating Chris Brown (allegedly) and she looks fabulous! …on the edge of your seat? Keep reading!
Don't hurt 'em Rih Rih!
Mariah's album has been pushed back to the 2nd quarter of 2008. According to Billboard via Mariah Daily, she could possibly face stiff competition from Usher, and Ashanti (who isn't really a threat *lol*).I guess this spells bad news because it means we won't be hearing the single for MONTHS. I knew Def Jam weren't going to allow Janet and Mariah to be pitted against each other because it would mean the record label losing a profit. I guess they want to make as much profit as they can from both artist. Right now, it seems they're putting all their concentration into Janet's project, testing the waters just to see what measures need to be taken when it's time for Mariah to put herself out there.
Mya did an interview with Stars News Online and she actually confessed that she will be leaving Universal Motown this year. I think that she should have done this a long time ago. I understand the policies of contractual agreements making it harder to leave but Motown has a history of doing a wackjob with their artists. It's probably the worst label you could sign to alongside Virgin. I think she should go independent like what my favourite singer Tamia has done. I'm sure she'd get better luck. And she should scrap Liberation altogether as well and record a brand new album.
Mary J. Blige latest new album 'Growing Pains' has nabbed the #1 spot on Billboard having sold 204,000 copies this week. She actually debuted at no 2. But this is good news for Mary, although I didn't think Growing Pains was all that, it sure was a lot better than some of the crap that had been unleashed to us that year. For Mary though, I was expecting her album to fair bigger. The hype surrounding this album was nowhere near as monumental as The Breakthrough. I have no doubt that by next week, she'll be platinum. A million copies sold in 3 weeks. Not bad.
Chris Brown is being sued by his concert tour designer because the 'Kiss Kiss' singer didn't pay him. John Troxtel
was supposed to be paid for designing the singer's concert tour set and an agreed negotiation was reached between all the parties involved. But when it was time for him to pick up that cheque, the touring company went straight incognito on that ass and flat out refused. What is it with R&B singers, concerts and lawsuits these days? Anyway, go check out TMZ for the full scoop.
The so-called dragon is set to unleash its fires when Sisqo makes a steady return to the limelight once again. Sisqo hasn't had a hit
record since 2001's Thong Song. Probably one of the most annoying ass records in R&B history. But the singer says he didn't take a break from music but that he was unable to release any music contractually for 2 years, after the last Dru Hill album. Yesterday, he wrote a message on his Myspace: "Hope everyone enjoyed their New Years. Touring in Germany was great, but it's time for the US to feel me! Be on the look out for "Gone Country" premiering this month on CMT". Gone HELLBOUND I say and unleash those fires all over yourself because I don't really want to hear it, not with that wackjob of a supposed comeback video (Daddy) and that appalling last album of yours.
Ne-yo is suing R. Kelly and the promoter Rowe Entertainment for having him kicked off R. Kelly's Double Up Tour. It is believed R. Kelly encouraged the promoter to have Ne-yo dismissed because the audience and critics reacted more favourably to Ne-yo's performances. I see it as a case of bruised ego's in which R. Kelly decided that another act upstaging the headliner just wasn't acceptable. Ne-yo now wants the full amount negotiated which was $785,000 for doing 25 gigs with singers Keyshia Cole and J. Holiday.Best of Both Worlds tour-mate Jay-Z and concert promoter Atlanta Worldwide with a breach of contract lawsuit. R. Kelly actually accused Jay-Z of sabotaging the tour because he was jealous that the audience was reacting more favourable to HIS ass. And now look! EXACT same situation repeating itself all over again Although Ne-yo didn't complete these gigs he still wants the remaining $735,000. See how things always come back to bite you in the ass R. Kelly? You sued your fellow .
Reps for Chris Brown deny he is involved in a sexual relationship with his longtime manager Tina Davis
Reps for R&B lover boy Chris Brown released a statement today denying recent reports of an alleged sexual relationship between Brown and his longtime manager, Tina Davis. Yesterday, various radio stations and blogs quoted sources that said the 18-year-old performer was involved in a two-year love affair with his manager, a former executive at Def Jam who took Brown underneath her wing during the infant stages of his career.
Before Chris signed to Jive Records, he stayed with Tina in her New Jersey home, where he prepared for his teen heartthrob music career.
But according to a source for popular culture blogger Sandra Rose, that wasn't the only thing he was doing.
"The drama behind the scenes has become so disruptive that it threatens the start of the tour," Rose wrote yesterday, referring to Brown's Up Close and Personal tour, which begins in Cincinnati on December 6.
"My source tells me exclusively that Chris Brown has been intimate with his manager since she met him at the tender age of 16! And furthermore, he is 'madly in love with her' . . . apparently, Chris' mom Joyce recently became aware of the situation and is not at all happy."
"Normally I wouldn't report a story like this without solid proof," Rose also wrote. "But my source is well-placed and very credible. This is the same source who gave me the scoop on Tameka Foster's pregnancy before anyone else reported it. I have learned never to doubt my source."
Today, Brown's camp fired back with this statement: "Chris Brown and his manager, Tina Davis have a strictly professional relationship. Ms. Davis has been instrumental in helping Chris achieve success as a multi-talented singer/dancer/actor. Rumors that the relationship goes beyond a working one, are not only *patently false*; they diminish her efforts and his undeniable talents." In his interview with VIBE for an October 2007 cover story, Brown admitted to having "friends with benefits," but maintained he was unattached to any specific women.
"I'm really single," he said. "And that's not a political answer." Jordin Sparks feat. Chris Brown » “No Air” » LISTEN » (Full) » This is a new “rumored” single, “No Air,” featuring Chris Brown from American Idol’s own, Jordin Sparks. This is definitely a solid single, courtesy of The Underdogs, the only con I have is she oversings a tad towards the latter. Other than that I think this is a stellar pop ballad that is sure to top the charts almost effortlessly.
M.I.A> » “Paper Planes” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Paper Planes” is said to be UK rapper M.I.A.’s next single from the critically proclaimed album Kala. Finally, I’m overzealous about how the video might turn out. “Paper Planes” is possibly one of my most songs off of the album Kala.
Fergie feat. Will.i.am » “Pick It Up” » LISTEN » (Full) » “Pick It Up” is a new track, featuring producer Will.i.am, that can be found on the Japan re-release of Fergie’s certified double platinum-selling album, The Dutchess. Ooh, I like this! Nice, mellow, guitar driven ballad. Will.i.am was also a nice touch to “Pick It Up,” as he always is.
