EVE'S ALBUM PUSHED BACK TO 2008
Originally due in August and then bumped to Oct. 16, rapper Eve's new Geffen album, "Here I Am," has now been pushed back until 2008. A spokesperson had no comment on the reason for the delay.
The first single from the project, "Tambourine," had modest success on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at No. 17. A new track, "Give It to Me" featuring Sean Paul, has yet to chart, although it has been at radio for several weeks.

EVE TO HOST THE "NEW AND IMPROVED" VIBE AWARDS
Eve is set to host Vibe Magazine's kindler, gentler celebration of all things urban on November 14, when VH1 Soul airs the first annual VH1 Soul Presents: Vibe Awards Special. The show is formatted much like its UPN-aired predecessor with categories such as R&B Voice of the Year and the Next Award being replaced by the more traditional R&B Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Artist of the Year awards.
While last year's edition aired without any problems, Vibe has had a tough time living down the infamous incident from 2004 when Young Buck stabbed Jimmy James Johnson for punching Dr. Dre during the acceptance of his Legend Award.
Although this year's more streamlined edition will no longer feature the Video Goddess category and clocks in at an hour as opposed to two hours, it remains to be seen if VH1 Soul can deliver the same ratings and advertisers as the UPN edition. R. Kelly, T.I. and Beyonce lead all artists with 3 nominations each, in various categories. T.I. is up for Hip-Hop Artist of the year while R. Kelly and Beyonce are vying for the title of R&B Artist of the Year.
Online viewer voting begins today at vibeawards.vh1.com and the show airs at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

The 2nd single to be lifted from Eve’s upcoming album "Here I Am" (due August 7th), has surfaced. Produced by Swizz Beats, "Give It To You", featuring Sean Paul, is a Caribbean tinged uptempo track – perfect for the summer. E-V-E’s first single ‘Tambourine’ has grown on me considerably and with the debut of this great new track, I’m anticipating her album all the more. Be on the lookout for the video soon.

According to published reports, our illest pitbull in a skirt... E-V-E must wear an alcohol-detecting ankle bracelet for 45 days after pleading no contest yesterday (June 28) to driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. The rapper-actress was not in Los Angeles Superior Court when her attorney entered the plea to a single misdemeanor count. Under the plea agreement, a second count of driving under the influence was dropped.Eve, whose real name is Eve Jihan Jeffers, was arrested early April 26 after her gold Maserati struck a center median on Hollywood Boulevard.
Eve had faced a maximum sentence of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. After her plea, she was sentenced to 36 months of probation and a $390 fine. With fees and restitution for repairs to the median, her bill could top $1,400.Also, besides having to wear the monitoring device, she has to attend 10 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and a three-month alcohol education program for first-time offenders.
She must appear personally in court on July 20 to show proof that she has enrolled in the alcohol program and is hooked up to the monitor, said Frank Mateljan, a spokesman for the city attorney's office.If the monitor shows Eve had alcohol during the 45-day monitoring period, that period will start over again. If she tests positive a second time, she will serve 10 days in county jail, Mateljan said."This was handled like any other of our DUI cases," Mateljan said. "This was an appropriate sentence, we believe, for the facts of this case.

EVE RELAUNCHING "FETISH" CLOTHING LINE THIS FALL
Raptress Eve is relaunching her Fetish clothing line which first debuted back in 2003 but was quickly dropped due to problems with the partnering company, INNOVI GROUP. Eve admits to not liking the original line which she says had too many studs and rhinestones and was simply too brand based. Eve says the relaunch will reflect more of her personal style which is grown up, sexy and classy. Also on board is the new partnering company of Signature Apparel. The end result is a new contemporary sportswear line that includes high waisted jeans (yikes), leather jackets, and logo shirts. Expect the newly revamped Fetish to hit stores near you this fall.
