ACTORS WANTED: BIGGIE MOVIE CASTING CALL

Well I guess the time has finally come to get the ball rolling on the biopic for legendary hip hop artist, Notorious BIG. Below you will find a list of characters for the film, their criteria and an address to submit your headshots to. Filming will take place in specific (which haven't been disclosed as of yet) parts of Brooklyn as well as the entire NYC area. The deadline is 1/17/08
MAIL PHOTOS TO: "NOTORIOUS B.I.G." CASTING POSTWORKS 222 E. 44 STREET 11TH FLOOR NEW YORK,NY 10017 TEL: 212-500-2700 SEEKING:
[FAITH EVANS] Seen in her late teens to early 20s, she is a beautiful, talented singer with a background in gospel music and the first female artist to be signed to Puffy's Bad Boy record label. To Biggie's surprise, she also has beat box skills. Faith and Biggie meet at a photo shoot, make cute, and get married shortly after, to their friends' astonishment. She bears him a son, CJ. Unfortunately, Faith discovers that fame and married life don't go well together; there is very little alone time for the couple, and jealousy, anger, and infidelity quickly tear the two apart. She likens their relationship to "playing house." At Biggie's funeral, Faith emotionally sings "I want Jesus to walk with me."...LEAD [MARK PITTS] Initially an intern at Uptown Records, this attractive African American man leaves the company when Puffy starts his own label, Bad Boy Records. Mark and Biggie become friends when they bond over Voletta's cancer diagnosis (Mark's mom died of cancer when he was 15). Mark promises Voletta that he'll keep Biggie in line and safe from the nihilistic and hedonistic music world. When Biggie gains fame and fortune, Mark and his cousin Wayne become Biggie's co-managers...SUPPORTING [KIM] In her teens to early 20s, she's a petite, attractive African-American girl, first seen wearing conservative business attire and a Bloomingdale's name tag. She and Biggie embark on a volatile, tumultuous sexual relationship and we see that Kim loves him deeply, even after he marries the beautiful up-and-coming singer, Faith Evans. Kim is also a superbly talented rapper, and while she and Biggie continue their affair, he also helps her define her image and get into the music game. She joins Junior Mafia and finds success as a sexy, bold, tough female rapperóa contrast to her true persona, which longs to be coddled and taken care of by Biggie. She is extremely jealous of Biggie's wife, Faith Evans and often wonders what Faith's got that she doesn't...SUPPORTING [DAMIEN] Seen from age 17 to early 20s, he's an African-American man and one of Biggie's drug dealing friends from Bed Stuy, Brooklyn. He's also the best, most loyal friend Biggie could hope for. Damien supports Biggie's ambition, and when the two are arrested for carrying an illegal weapon, Damien makes a difficult choice to sacrifice himself, offering Biggie a better chance to

make something of himself. ...LEAD [CEASE] Seen from 14-20, he is one of Biggie's best friends from the old neighborhood. He is younger than Biggie, so he is more like a little brother. Biggie took Cease with him everywhere and kept him out the drug game. In return, Cease was fiercely protective of Biggie, especially when he saw Biggie being attacked in the media. Throughout Biggie's rise to fame, the love and bond they shared grew. Biggie didn't drive, so Cease drove him everywhere. After performing with BIG as his hype man, Cease earns himself a spot in Biggie's Junior M.A.F.I.A...LEAD [TUPAC SHAKUR] In his early 20s, this good-looking, smooth-tongued, muscular African American rapper is a big star when he meets Biggie. Biggie is not yet a star but trying to make it in the rap game, so Tupac takes him under his wing and the two become fast friends. Tupac's favorite piece of advice is for Biggie to implement a "five year plan." He warns Biggie about the fake people and hangers-on he's bound to meet when he becomes famous. The two perform together at Madison Square Garden, meet women, and share a lot of laughs. Their friendship turns to animosity when Tupac is shot and nearly killed in a recording studio. Tupac believes Biggie set him up, and nothing will convince him otherwise. Tupac's lyrics take direct aim at Biggie in the months to come, suggesting an affair between Tupac and Biggie's wife, Faith. Biggie bites his tongue and hopes it will all blow over but before the two can ever reconcile, Tupac is murdered in Las Vegas...SUPPORTING [PRIMO] This muscular African American man with gold-tipped teeth challenges Christopher to a rap battle of wits and serves up a verbal assault. Christopher one-ups Ralston and wins the day...1 line & 1 song, 1 scene

MUSIC NEWS: DIDDY IS BEING SUED....

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been hit with a lawsuit from a former associate who claims the mogul owes him more than $19 million for music by the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. According to the Associated Press, James Sabatino, a former consultant for Diddy’s Bad Boy Entertainment Inc., says he flew B.I.G. to Miami in 1994 to perform at a concert and record some music. Sabatino says the rapper recorded about 17 minutes of vocals, and the session was also captured on about 90 minutes of video footage. Although a contract was never signed, Sabatino says there was an understanding that he owned Biggie’s tracks as well as the video footage because he purchased both the rapper’s flight and studio session, the lawsuit states.

Diddy gave Sabatino a check for $25,000 and promised the rest of the money would follow in 60 days, according to the lawsuit. Sabatino was later incarcerated on unrelated charges but still tried to collect the balance of his fee from Diddy. He was repeatedly told it was coming soon, according to the lawsuit, which seeks both actual and punitive damages. Sabatino says in the filing that he felt pressured not to talk about the dispute because Diddy had been questioned by police about the rapper’s death. The mogul apparently told police he did not feel Sabatino was involved in the slaying, but Sabatino says he feared Diddy would change his story and implicate him even if it was not true, according to the Associated Press.

NEW VIDEO: LAST MOMENTS OF BIGGIE CAUGHT ON TAPE....

04.jpg

Our buddies at Nah Right have posted a snippet from the upcoming film Notorious B.I.G: Bigger than Life which shows the last few moments of Biggie Smalls. The camcorder footage was shot by fans who had been at the party Big and Puff attended right before he was killed. The film, which is straight to DVD, contains some never before seen footage like this as well as interviews from people close to Big. Ironically, no interviews from Lil Kim, D-Roc or anyone from Junior Mafia. Perhaps it’s just too much to constantly relive your worst nightmare. Though the footage is not graphic, it is still disturbing. And so is the fact this case remains unsolved. I wonder why they have just decided to release it. What your thought? Leave a comment.

B.I.G. Movie

NEW YORK (AP) - The role of Notorious B.I.G. for an upcoming biopic on the rapper will be filled through an open casting call, the film's producers told The Associated Press on Thursday.

"Notorious," which has been in the works for nearly seven years, will seek its star by auditioning actors and non-actors alike who resemble the rapper, whose real name was Christopher Wallace. Anyone can submit audition videos beginning 3 a.m. EDT Sunday to or .http://www.foxsearchlight.com/notorioushttp://www.biggiecasting.com

An official announcement of the online casting call will be made Friday by Fox Searchlight Pictures, which in 2005 secured the rights to a film about the slain rapper. Wallace's mother, Voletta Wallace, and his two former managers, Wayne Barrow and Mark Pitts, are producing the movie.

"As it relates to the individual Christopher Wallace - his looks, his stature, what he represented, the swagger, the sensibility of the man - all those elements are very difficult to find, no matter where you go," Barrow said Thursday. "In the typical Hollywood world, no one came to mind outside of Forest Whitaker who could capture that essence genuinely."

Barrow said the film's producers never approached Whitaker because - though he would have been ideal - at 46-years-old Whitaker is more than twice the age Wallace will be for much of the film. Wallace was gunned down at the age of 24 on March 9, 1997, after a music-industry party in Los Angeles.

"We thought it would be best to open it up to the world and ... give somebody the opportunity to step into his shoes and fulfill their own American dream," said Barrow.

In a statement released to the AP, Voletta Wallace described the qualities the producers are seeking.

"There will only be one Christopher Wallace, but I'm happy that his legacy will open a door for another to walk through," said Wallace. "I don't want you to just imitate him. I want to see his swagger, his style, his energy and smile come through."

Fox Searchlight on Thursday also told the AP that George Tillman will direct. The filmmaker's previous credits include "Men of Honor" (2000) and "Soul Food" (1997).

Antoine Fuqua ("Training Day,""Shooter") was two years ago reported to be close to agreeing to direct. In an interview earlier this year with the AP, Fuqua said he was apprehensive about the degree of control the producers had in developing the script.

"They're in the record business, they're not in the film business," Fuqua said then.

Barrow said he remains friends with Fuqua and that timing was the only issue.

The script was written by Cheo Hodari Coker and Reggie Rock Bythewood. Coker, a hip-hop journalist, wrote the biography "Unbelievable: The Life, Death, and Afterlife of the Notorious B.I.G."

The film intends to focus on the Wallace not seen in his public life, zeroing in on "the humanity within Christopher himself," said Barrow. He added that no real-life character in Wallace's world will play himself, given the passage of time.

The producers hope to begin production this fall.
