MUSIC NEWS: JA RULE & IRV GOTTI ARE NOT BEEFING

Rumors of a rift between Murder Inc CEO Irv Gotti and Ja Rule over the release date of the rapper's forthcoming album have been put to rest by Ja’s representative.

As reported earlier, Ja Rule's seventh album The Mirror was set for release this month but got pushed back over sample clearances.

Rumors were circulating that due to the lackluster response of the album’s two lead singles, Gotti pushed the project’s release date back and Ja Rule was angered by the move, causing a rift between the two.

“That's not true. They get along very well. They're brothers,” Ja’s rep, Kim Harris, told The New York Post. “[The album] will likely come out in February. Ja's going back in the studio to do a couple more tracks. It was a mutual decision.”

RAPPERS GOING TO COURT LIKE IT'S THE CLUB

THIS DON'T MAKE A BIT OF SENSE.... Several rappers were present in downtown Manhattan yesterday – unfortunately it wasn’t for a hip-hop concert. Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne, Remy Ma, and Ja Rule were all in attendance at Manhattan Criminal Court for separate cases ranging from assault to weapons possession. In each case, the rappers were simply given a new court date. Busta Rhymes, 35, was ordered to return on Jan. 23 when jury selection will begin for his trial on assault and drunken driving charges. Busta is accused of kicking a fan, punching a former employee, driving drunk, and driving with a suspended license. Ja Rule, 31, was told to come back on Dec. 5 to face weapons charges. He was arrested in July 2006 when police officers pulled him over after a concert, and they allegedly found a loaded .40-caliber handgun in his vehicle. Lil Wayne, 24, was ordered to reappear in court on Feb. 25, after he was arrested for illegal gun possession following a performance at the same concert as Ja Rule. Finally Remy Ma, 26, is charged with assault and witness tampering over the alleged shooting of a childhood friend over money and then trying to intimidate her. She was told to come back to court on Dec. 5. Remy Ma, who has recorded songs with Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne, said she knew all the other rappers who were in court and considered them friends.
