In 2006, Snoop Dogg was back in Tha Dogg Pound. The 34-year-old rapper had reunited with Daz Dillinger and Kurupt, aka Young Gotti, to record a new album, Cali Iz Active, that was released on June 27 on his label, Doggy Style Records in conjunction with Koch Records.

Cash Money Records has been founded in 1998 by Bryan Baby Williams and Ronald Godfather Williams. The label is known for breaking such artists as Big Tymers (including Baby & Mannie Fresh), B.G., Juvenile and Lil Wayne. The label is backed by Universal Records that provides distribution, marketing and promotion support for Cash Money artists.
