LUPE WON'T BE VOTING FOR OBAMA

Even though a significant portion of the hip-hop community, or at least what seems like the 2% that actually care about politics, have thrown their support behind Barack Obama, Lupe Fiasco’s not buying into the hype. The Chicago MC, who’s 2nd LP, The Cool, sold another 54,398 copies last week (bringing his two week total 198,477), recently spoke to SOHH.com and said,

“Obama doesn’t really impress me like that. It’s not a shot at him but some of his agendas, the bombing of Iran and all that stuff. He ain’t gonna do nothing but perpetuate the nonsense that all the Presidents before have done, and what Bush is doing now. It’s to the point now where the world is so twisted and so messed up that we need somebody to come in. I think Hillary [Clinton] will set an example for women all around the world and hopefully effect some change, as opposed to another man pushing for agendas and pushing policies. I think even if she don’t do anything, just the statement that it makes- that the United States is run by a woman- would be so phenomenal for the world.”

Earlier in the article, Lupe’s quoted as saying:

“I’m not voting for anybody. I don’t believe in voting on that level. But I want Hillary [Clinton] to win.”

Interesting. I really want to know what he means by not believing in voting on “that level.” Like, what level do you believe in voting on, who’s the best emcee- Biggie, Jay-Z, or Nas?
