BEEN RICH ALL MY LIFE Movie Trailer

My mother recommended that I watch this documentary on these Great Women of "The Business". This independent film, "Been Rich All My Life" focuses on the reunion of 5 former Cotton Club dancers all in their upper eighties or nineties who decided 17 years ago to reunite their old dance crew. This film is not only interesting, it's also very moving. The struggles these women had to go through to pave the way for Black Women to be in show business today. I think it is a true testament to where Black people should be today. Whether in Show Business or not. We have so much to give. I think that all these young women who ONLY aspire to be the "Girl in the Video" shaking their ass, and allowing their presence to only be physical should watch this movie. These women did not break down walls for our generation to put them back up. The strength, diligence, beauty and integrity of these women should be handed down to the next generations to come. It's a sad thing that a white women (no offense my caucasion viewers) had to bring this story to light. We need our black writers, producers, directors and documentary artists to look to the past to better prepare our people for their future. We are such a beautiful and powerful presence in the world, and at this point 2008 we should be projected as such. That goes for our men and women. Let's stop dumbing down our music, films and lives and step up our game. This movie goes to show how far we come, and how far we've got to go. Purchase it at Amazon.com or rent it through NetFlix. It is definitely a must see, pass it around. The Silver Belles are Truly an Inspiration.
